14FEB2024 | DAY 01 | Lent is a season of discovery…Lent is a season of making space to intentionally see God in the everyday…Prior to our Ash Wednesday service this evening, I had taken another picture I was going to use for this first post…then as I was sharing a hymnal with my 8-year-old daughter, I saw her finger following along as we sang our opening hymn…and was immediately captivated as I saw her point out the simple essence of what the season of Lent is all about…hearing her soft, sweet little girl voice sing those words while pointing them out to herself and her daddy gave me yet another example of encountering God through observing the Lenten discipline of gathering for worship…
