STOP. REMEMBER. CELEBRATE.
In the midst of a busy, rainy Thursday, take a moment to do something so many forget because of the demands we make of ourselves and others this time of year. Let us remember all of our holiday preparations and activities are about celebrating the, "Thrill of Hope." Take a moment right now to reflect upon these words from Isaiah and ask if you are truly celebratory as Christmas comes...and if not, what needs to change in order for you to be celebratory.
Isaiah 12:4-6
And you will say in that day: Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known his deeds among the nations; proclaim that his name is exalted.
Sing praises to the LORD, for he has done gloriously; let this be known in all the earth.
Shout aloud and sing for joy, O royal Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.
While the trappings and traditions of the season can and do often bring us joy, let us always be mindful of and practicing a faith that reflects a spirit of celebration not because of anything other than God so loved us that we were sent the only begotten Son to do what no one nor nothing else could do - make us right with our creator.
Grace and Peace, Lamar
