Where Y'at?
This Wednesday, as you are looking through your e-mails and going about your daily routine, let me ask you a simple question: Where are you?
No, I don't mean where are you physically, for in one form or another - desktop, laptop, tablet, phone, etc. - you are in front of a computer. What I'm talking about when it comes to "Where are you?" is, "Where are you?"
Mentally, spiritually, emotionally...there are a lot of different ways for us to not be where we are.
What happens when we are with another and one of us is obviously not there? For whatever reason, we are simply not there. How much do we miss when, even when we are physically present, we are not there?
In this week's installation of our Back to the Basics series, we are going to be looking at the sacred vow we made to each other and to God to support this congregation with our presence. We will be exploring how crucial it is not only to ourselves but to everyone else within the congregation and in the mission field that is our area for us to be truly present within the body of Christ.
As you go through your Wednesday and the rest of your week, let me challenge you to think about what it means to be present.
See you Soon!

P.S. Notice that no where in this discussion of presence was it mentioned being present for what you can do. Although that is an important part of being present, the most important thing about presence is how much you are blessed and are a blessing to others just by being involved.
